Big Ten Tourney: An Illini forte - Jason's Take

Big Ten Tourney: An Illini forte

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)

Historically, Illinois has been very, very good in the Big Ten Tournament.

All time, the Illini hold a record of 21-8. That is the most wins of any school in the event.

The Illini have, at minimum, reached the semifinals in 10 of the 11 years since the Big Ten started having a conference tournament.

Head coach Bruce Weber is 9-3 in Big Ten tournament games. In five years at the helm, Illinois teams have competed in the Big Ten championship game three times, earning the title in 2005.

Do they have one more win in them? Can they beat Wisconsin and complete an improbable run to the NCAA tournament?

I doubt it, but I've been wrong all week. I hope I'm wrong one more time.

Go Illini!
