The White Sox still have one more roster move to make before Opening Day on Monday. The last spot in the bullpen will go to either Nick Masset or Ehren Wasserman.
Personally, I can't believe this is even a debate.
Masset was terrible in his outing on Thursday. He went 4 1/3 innings and gave up six runs with four walks against the Arizona Diamonbacks. His spring ERA? 7.06.
That's eerily similar to his 2007 regular-season numbers, where he went 2-3 with a 7.09 ERA. It's pretty clear to me that Nick Masset is a guy whose ERA is going to be up near seven, if he makes the club.
Meanwhile, Wasserman went 1-1 with a 2.74 ERA last season. His spring ERA? 3.09.
Wasserman is so obviously the better pitcher. Why is Masset still here? Cut him, please.

What kills me is that the Sox seem to think they'll lose Masset if they put him on waivers. How dumb would the Sox be to keep Masset over Wassermann? Not as dumb as the team that would claim Masset after the way he's pitched for the last year or so.
I can't imagine anyone would claim Masset. He's been terrible. I'm worried Kenny is going to hold on to Masset in an attempt to prove he got the better of the McCarthy deal.
The Sox are keeping Masset. Foolish. Just foolish.
