Seriously, I'm not very good - Jason's Take

Seriously, I'm not very good

I'm amazed at how many people actually think I'm good at filling out the NCAA tournament brackets. The evidence suggests otherwise.

I'm having a rather poor year. I went a pedestrian 22-10 in the first round. I got only nine of the Sweet 16 correct. I've already lost one of the teams I picked to make the national championship game (Georgetown).

I do still have three of my Final Four teams alive. If they all pan out, I could still make a respectable showing. But it will hardly be a great showing.

A lot of people I know seem surprised when I tell them I'm not nailing all these picks. Sure, I've had years where I've done well. I've finished in the money in the office pool here at The Beacon News a couple times. Every once in awhile, a blind squirrel finds an acorn.

I've had other years where I've been terrible. This year may fall in that category. Filling out these brackets is nothing more than dumb luck. Some years you hit it. Some years you don't.
