Garland will be sorely missed - Jason's Take

Garland will be sorely missed

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)

Former White Sox pitcher and two-time 18-game winner Jon Garland made his debut with the Los Angeles Angels Tuesday night.

He pitched eight innings, allowing only one run on six hits. He earned a 9-1 victory over the hated Minnesota Twins.

Think he'd look pretty good in the middle of the Sox rotation right about now? Garland's first performance with his new team reminds Sox fans what they'll be missing this year: Consistency, reliability and a lot of innings.

Don't worry, though. We still have Gavin Floyd.

OK, that last sentence was sarcasm. Supposedly, "29 other teams would love to have Gavin Floyd." We'll start to find that out Saturday when Floyd pitches for the Sox against Detroit.

Personally, I think 29 other teams would love to have Jon Garland. The Sox are one of those teams.
