Losing to crappy NL teams - never a good idea

If you play in the American League, it is imperative to win a high percentage of your interleague games. You can rest assured your competition will.

Just look at what happened to the White Sox this weekend. The South Siders played atrocious baseball against the last-place Colorado Rockies, dropping two out of three games at home.

Such a lapse is costly in the standings, as each of the Sox' competitors in the AL Central won at least two out of three over the weekend against inferior National League teams. The Detroit Tigers mowed down the Los Angeles Dodgers with ease for three consecutive days to pull within six games of the Sox in the division race.

Simply put, the Sox can't afford to keep blowing games against these bad teams, especially at home.

At minimum, two out of three is needed this week against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
