Here's the good news for Kyle Orton: He's been named the Bears starting quarterback for the Sept. 7 opener at Indianapolis. Now for the bad news: He'll be playing behind the Bears offensive line.

When a player gets traded to a new team, there's a tendency to press in an attempt to prove oneself to new teammates and fans. Based on Thursday night's game, Ken Griffey Jr. seems to be falling into that trap.

Detroit relief pitcher Joel Zumaya isn't the most likable fellow in the world, so it was nice to see Nick Swisher and the White Sox kick his butt Tuesday night.

For years, outfielder Carlos Lee has killed the Cubs. He killed them when he was with the White Sox. He killed them when he was with the Brewers. And he still kills them now that he's with the Astros.
