The White Sox play the Twins at the MetroDome in Minneapolis from Sept. 23-25. The prevailing theory is the Sox better have a four-game lead in the division by that point, because it's a given the Twins will sweep the Sox in that house of horrors. Right?
I don't think so. The Twins just completed a six-game homestand where they played the Tigers and Royals, fourth- and fifth-place teams in the AL Central. This just in: Minnesota only went 3-3 in those games.
See? The Twins can be beat in the MetroDome. If the freakin' Kansas City Royals can win a game in the MetroDome, then so can the Sox.
The Sox don't need a four-game lead going into that final week. If they have any lead at all, they should be in good shape. And if they can't win a single game in the MetroDome, they don't belong in the playoffs anyway.
