That's right, I said it. The Twins stink, and it's about time the Sox beat them.
In their last 16 postseason games, including the one-game playoff Tuesday night, Minnesota is 2-14. Even Marty Schottenheimer is laughing at that.
The Twins have no business in the playoffs. I don't know that the Sox can beat the Tampa Bay Rays either, but there's no doubt in my mind that they have a better chance at it than Minnesota would have.
Last night, I posted that we'd find out what John Danks was made of in this one-game playoff. How about eight shutout innings and only two hits allowed? Pretty hard to top that.
Jim Thome's 461-foot homer on to the fan deck in center field was all the offense the Sox would need in a 1-0 win.
On to Tampa Bay.....
