Election Night: It's whack

There really isn't anything on TV tonight.

The only sporting event televised: A college football game between Miami (Ohio) and Buffalo at 6:30 on ESPN2. Pass.

And there's no point in watching the election coverage. I hear crews are doing a fine job of putting up fences for Barack Obama's celebration party tonight. My colleague, DJ Wanberg, called it "remarkable craftsmanship." That's the kind of tripe you hear on CNN on days like today.

As for me, I don't like Barack Obama, so I don't care about all this hoopla. The majority of the people I voted for today are going to lose. Election? Whoop. Dee. Doo.

Can't I at least get a decent hockey game to watch tonight? Gee whiz.

I voted for Ralph Nader.

I felt that Nader is the man who really would bring change to our country along with dignity. Nader has experience in running the economy. Nader is a guy that would truly end the war and bring peace. Nader is a guy that was out for the common man. I wrote a letter to Ralph Nader when the Twins got screwed by Major League Baseball with the coin flip, and Nader wrote me back by saying that he looked into the situation, and that he talked to Selig about it. Nader is the type of guy that will listen to everyone's concerns. It's just too bad Nader is a victim of hate in mainstream media.

I was very proud to vote for Nader, and I told all my friends at the booth tonight that I voted for Nader.

I hope one day Nader gets elected.

You know what? Since I am in a political mood tonight, I really need to go off on a rant since it fits this thread. Why is it a big deal that our new president is black? Seriously. I find it insulting that in this day and age, we are talking about his skin color. When are we going to stop judging people on the color of his skin? When? It was even digusting couple of years ago when everyone made a big deal of two black coaches making it to the Super Bowl. I like to think we don't have to make a big deal of people's nationalities or their skin color. The fact that Obama won was great, but let's not make it a historic thing because of his skin color. We need to get over this stuff. This is not 1960 anymore.
