The real reason the Cavs acquired Shaq

They need new halftime entertainment!

I'm not sure if Shaq is a good enough player at this stage of his career to lift Cleveland to that elusive NBA championship, but his breakdancing probably beats frisbee dogs who can't catch.

I noticed there was not much buzz within the basketball commmunity and on ESPN when this news took place the other day. When ESPN does not hype a trade like this, it's a good indication Shaq is all but done.

Yeah Shaq had a good season last year, but remember the Suns gave him days off which would help him play fresh and play at a level that he is capable of playing. I am not sure you can do this often with him especially come playoff time. Home-court advantage is going to be huge in the Eastern Conference with Boston and Orlando competing with Cleveland so every game matters, and I am not sure if Shaq can handle playing every game or if the Cavs can afford to give him days off.

The Cavs were better off getting Bosh, but then again, I wondered if they knew they had nothing to offer for him so they settled with Shaq.

To me, the favorites to get Bosh is either Da Bulls or Miami. I hope Miami gets the first dibs of getting him. I feel Miami can offer better than Da Bulls. Miami can offer Michael Beasley for Bosh. Beasley could be a guy Toronto build around, and Bosh can not only lead Miami to the Finals, and maybe winning it, but most importantly, he can convince that he and Wade should stay to build a dynasty.

I know Bulls fans love to overhype the team's talent, but Tyrus Thomas and Joakim Noah are nothing special, and they are not worth the value of Bosh. Sorry, Bulls fans. Thomas is an enigma when he is out there, and Noah is nothing more than a fringe player. If the Bulls get Bosh for those two stifs, then this will be equivalent of the Lakers getting Gasol for nothing.
