Ryan Boatright has himself a night

East-ABN-1127.jpg St. Charles North is not very good at basketball, but you still have to be impressed by the sick numbers East Aurora guard Ryan Boatright put up Friday night -- 55 points on 22-for-36 shooting, 10 rebounds, 10 steals, three assists and two blocked shots.

The Tomcats made 29 field goals in the 75-66 win. Boatright either scored or assisted on 25 of them. That's about as dominating a performance as you're ever going to see on the high school level.

Boatright's point total was only one fewer than the school record of 56, set by Tom Kivisto against Rock Island on February 14, 1970.

East has been playing in the St. Charles East Tournament all week. The Tomcats have a 2-1 record in pool play. They also beat Hales Franciscan, but lost to Downers Grove South. All three of the aforementioned schools are 2-1, and unfortunately for the Tomcats, they draw the shortest straw on tiebreakers.

Hales Franciscan is in the title game Saturday night against Proviso East. Downers South is playing Schaumburg for third place. East is relegated to the fifth-place game against St. Joseph. Tip time is 4 p.m.

St. Joseph better hope Boatright cools off over night....
