Bail was set Monday for the 28 alleged Latin Kings arrested so far in 22 previously unsolved murders in and around Aurora dating back 18 years. The amounts range from $500,000 to $5 million, meaning most or all of the defendants will not be able to post the 10 percent bond required to get out of jail pending trial. Of course, a good number of them are already in prison and won't be going anywhere no matter what.
The youngest accused killer, 17-year-old Max Aguilar, got the lowest figure. Quentin Moore, who police say was involved in four of the murders, received the highest bail (actually $5 million + $1 million + $1 million for three separate incidents). Read the full list here.
Hopefully none of them end up back on the streets for a long, long time.
Keep in mind that these are the ALLEGED murderers - INNOCENT until proven guilty - isn't that what America is all about? Or did we forget about this little rule because its not convient? People who live in glass houses should not throw bricks. There is NOONE this earth who can judge you are not God and how can you point the fingur when you have three pointed right back at you? Everyone has skeletons in thier closet, yeah it might not be murder but its still a skeleton and you don't want anyone to find out about it right? I'm pretty sure that there are other people out there who have really done some bad things, they just haven't gotten caught for it and they might not ever get caught. Those of you should consider yourselves lucky.
These men that are being accused of these crimes are all good men. They are not cold blooded killers. It is not right but with that lifestyle you have to do what you can to protect yourself and family. The so called victims could have been killers themselves and never have gotten caught for their crimes. Everyone needs to remember what goes around comes around. I am sorry for all the lives lost. No one deserves to get killed. The men killed and the men in custody because they were just ripped from the new lives that they had built with families of there own. None of us have the right to judge anyone.
everybody needs to stop talking trash on these blogs. Men were arrested because they are being accused of taking others lives. And yes it is possible that some of the victims may have done their share or causing trouble, but not all of them did. Some were truly innocent victims. Victims of circumstance.
As far as what becky said about having to do what they had to do because of their lifestyle to protect themselves and their family. nobody forced them to join a gang and put themselves in that predictament. How many other people live in the same neighborhood in similar circumstances that didn't get wrapped up in that lifestyles. It's time to stop making excuses. If they are guilty they should pay. Even if they are "better" people now those victims never got a chance to straighten up their lives. Some of those victims were in the process of cleaning up their lives. If they are guilty they need to pay for what they did. point blank.
Becky's comment is pretty funny. She states that these men were "all good men". Here's a news flash Becky...good men don't join gangs and good men do not kill for any reason!
Becky, if someone is concerned with doing what you can to protect yourself and family then I have the answer. Don't join a gang where you will instantly gain hundreds of enemies (rival gangs) who want to shoot you and might accidently shoot a family member. I know it sounds too easy but guess what? Everyone has a choice. Join a gang and bring a whole lot of violence and problems into your life OR stay in school, get a job and enjoy the American dream. To call those who made VERY VERY BAD DECISIONS victims is a disgrace to the true victims. And before you reply with the typical answer that they were forced to join the gangs because of family situations and where they grew up - I can tell you that there are several Aurora police officers who grew up in the same situation in the same neighborhood. Again, it is about very bad decisions.
