As you might have noticed, we've had a bit of a site redesign around these parts. The software upgrade caused us to shut things down for a few hours, so if your comments were late in getting posted, we apologize.
We hope you like the new Beacon Blog.
Seems the Beacon's blog is trying to emulate the success of OpenlineBlog.com
I think it's great the Beacon is trying to be like them. It would be nice to see the Beacon and OpenlineBlog work together someday.
I appreciate the blogs. I would also like to see comments sections attached to the stories, such as at the Tribune and, for example, the Arizona Daily Star in Tucson.
The comments sections have to be moderated, but there is nothing really that gets people coming back to the website like them, IMO.
Here is a link to the ADS; click on an article and scroll to the bottom to link to the comments section.

P.S. Not all stories have comment ability. Here is one, for example. I like the ADS comments software, which lets posters "thumb up" or "thumb down" comments already posted.

CETERA REPLIES --
I'm told that will be a feature in the future. Don't know when the future is.
So far nice updates to the Blog format and features.
One chane I'd like to see would be 'threaded' comments, along with the 'Thumbs up-down' or similar rating ability.
By threading the comments/replie, esp for more active posts would be easier to follow and better organized.
Good addition using the 'Captcha' token.
On a more 'technical' level, making it easier to post/include Hyperlinks to posts from users would be worth consideration.
Or at least a 'cliff's notes FYI' note to assist with formating, html codes supported and style guides.
Not everyone is familar with these items or how to make better use of them.
Jsut a few random suggestions for considerations
Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the reply and info, Mr. Cetera.
