Hey, look, news from an aldermanic race! They've been pretty quiet lately from Beacon Election Central's perspective, although it sounds like there's been lots of neighborhood work going on among certain candidates.

BY ASSOCIATION OF PROFESSIONAL POLICE OFFICERS (APPO) OF AURORA
To the People of Aurora,
With over 150 years of dedicated service to the people of the City of Aurora, the second largest city in the State of Illinois, the sworn members of the Association of Professional Police Officers (APPO) work every day to address challenges in our community, protect our citizens and improve quality of life.
We value the leadership of our elected officials to work together with our sworn members, who are committed to the best interests of the community as our highest priority.
On February 9, 2009, the Association for Professional Police Officers met with Rick Lawrence and considered his candidacy for re-election as Alderman of the 4th Ward of Aurora.
Rick Lawrence has faithfully served the community with integrity and dedication. With mutual respect and cooperation, he has consistently worked together with our members to make Aurora a safer and better place to live.
We, the sworn officers of the Association for Professional Police Officers, are proud to have unanimously voted to endorse and support Rick Lawrence for Alderman of the 4th Ward of Aurora and encourage our fellow citizens to do the same for the April 7, 2009 election.
