We asked candidates for the April 7 election a series of questions we hope will help voters make an informed voting decision. Up now: Maple Park village president. Find their surveys attached after the jump.
There are two candidates for the position.
Kathleen Curtis, 45 (on March 28), is an accountant at the Q Center in St. Charles. She has served as a village trustee for four years. Said Curtis: "I recognize the village's challenges. I am an experienced operations accounting manager with an in-depth understanding of the Village financial position."
Ross Dueringer, 66, is a used car salesman at Elm Street Auto Mart in Maple Park. He has served as the village president for four years. Said Dueringer: "I ran on the motto of honesty and truthfulness and have lived up to that promise and shown leadership in that regard. I have always put Maple Park first and foremost no matter the consequences and have shown favoritism to no one, rich or poor, friend or foe."
Interesting that you include coverage of the race for Maple Park mayor but there has been nothing about North Aurora's elections. For being a community the Beacon has served for years, North Aurora deserves to have coverage of news that is important to residents. Why else would we pay for subscriptions to your paper?
Where was the coverage of our Candidate forum on March 12?
Never fear, there will be coverage of elections in North Aurora -- stories and candidate survey responses.
I'm not sure The Beacon was aware of the March 12 forum. Can you provide some details about who sponsored it or where it was held?
Sponsors were the Greater Aurora Chamber of Commerce and the North Aurora Mothers Club. Held at Eden Supportive Living on Lincolnway.
