We asked candidates for the April 7 election a series of questions we hope will help voters make an informed voting decision. Up now: West Aurora School Board. Find their surveys attached after the jump.
There are four candidates for three open seats.
Mark Bradford, 36, is a client relationship manager at Investortools, Inc., in Yorkville. He has never run for public office. Says Bradford: "I am an involved parent of four children in the West Aurora School District, so to borrow a phrase, I will have 'skin in the game' for the next 13 years."
Robert Littler, 58, is a senior project manager at Alcatel-Lucent in Naperville. He has never run for public office. Says Littler: "I am proud to say that I have actively participated in the Parent Teacher Organization during the time my son attended Greenman Elementary as well as helped form and participated in the grass roots movement to persuade the SD129 School Board to review the proposed movement of the Greenman School."
Neal Ormond, 67, is a retired vice president, human resources for W.W. Grainger, Inc. He has served on the West Aurora School Board for 14 years. Says Ormond: "I am running for the school board to continue to serve my community as well as the staff of District 129 by contributing my time, talents and passion to help our students achieve educational excellence and to grow into adults who are well-prepared to be good citizens. In other words, to help keep West Best!"
Jonathan Wood, 51 (on March 13), is in sales and management for Comcast Cable in Elmhurst. He has served on the West Aurora School Board for four years. Says Wood: "It is the responsibility of the school board to keep our community, educators, parents and students accountable for the type of educational learning experience being had."
