We asked candidates for the April 7 election a series of questions we hope will help voters make an informed voting decision. Up now: North Aurora village president. Find their surveys attached after the jump.

There are four candidates for the position.

Dale Berman, 75, is retired from the field of information systems sales and management. He previously has served as village president and is currently a village board member. Said Berman: "I have been there and done that. I served four years as village president. I know what it takes to be a good mayor."

Max Herwig, 63, is a retired technical manager. He has been a village trustee since 1995. Said Herwig: "I have been, and when elected will continue to be, an elected official who puts the thoughts of the residents first when making decisions that may impact them."

Linda L. Mitchell, 63, is the director of elections for the Kane County clerk's office. She previously served as village clerk and currently is a village trustee. Said Mitchell: "Very simply I am the most qualified candidate. My opponents talk about leadership, experience, committees they have served on but none of them have ever been involved at the level that I have in the running of the Village."

Mark Vogt, 47, is a freelance IT consultant and project manager. He has never held elected office. Said Vogt: "It dawned on me that what was needed was a different kind of politician. What was needed was a leader who actually knew how to analyze difficult problems, and then work with the one resource (not money) our community had available - its people, and their time & energy."
