We asked candidates for the April 7 election a series of questions we hope will help voters make an informed voting decision. Up now: Plano mayor. Find their surveys attached after the jump.
There are five candidates running for the position.

Robert Hausler, 58, is retired from Caterpillar Inc. He has served as a Plano alderman since 2007. Said Hausler: "I have a proven record of listening to the citizens of Plano and taking a common sense approach to the issues. I have taken the time to research the issues that affect the City. I am retired and I am available to perform city business for as many hours as necessary."
Scott Mulliner, 53, is a manager of production and building systems at Miner Enterprises in Geneva. He served as a Plano alderman from 2004-2007. Said Mulliner: "As Mayor, I will find ways to spread the tax burden so that we can all enjoy a lower tax rate. I will work with the school district to find ways to increase tax revenues by promoting commercial developments that will require less attention with lower costs to the schools and city."
Katherine "Dee" LeCuyer, 57, has served as a Plano alderman since 2003. Said LeCuyer: "I am the most qualified candidate running for Mayor. I have six years of experience in municipal government. I have been elected twice by the constituents of Ward 2."
Jeff Newkirk, 48, is an accountant at Newkirk & Associates, Inc. in Plano. He has never held elected office. Said Newkirk: "I have been attending City Council meetings for more than a year so that I am prepared to take office. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting from Aurora University and twenty-six years of proven business management experience operating two successful businesses in Plano."
