Next up? Softball postseason

The Bolingbrook girls softball team (9-14) drew the 17th seed in the Lisle Super-Sectional and will compete in a play-in game against the 16th seeded Waubonsie Valley.

The play-in game will take place on Memorial Day (Monday) at 10 a.m. Bolingbrook will get a chance to perfect its lineup for the postseason as the Raiders have three games, all against conference opponents, remaining in their regular season.

If they win the play-in game, the Raiders will take on top-seeded and SWSC rival Lockport.

"I actually think our girls play better on the road so going to Waubonsie won't be a problem for us. When you are at home you just sit around and wait for the umpires and the other team and the girls' minds are all over the place. When you are on the road you just get off the bus and play softball," Raiders coach Jean Ryan-Moak said. "Playing in a play-in game is always difficult especially on the coaching staff because you know you need to beat the opponent you are up against to move on but also have one eye on the future. We have played Lockport tough this season and would like to play them, but first we have to beat Waubonsie, which will be a good game."
