Raiders soccer team eliminated

By Jason Ivanitz

The Raiders girls soccer team lost a heart-breaking 2-1 game in overtime against Willowbrook on Friday. Williowbrook will play top-seeded Neuqua Valley at Plainfield North on Tuesday.

The Raiders played without senior midfielder and team captain Hannah Jahn, who tore her ACL in a conference game two weeks ago. This week, Raiders coach Martin Uscila has held one-hour practices this week, focusing on offense. The reason for the short practices is the concern of team fatigue.

Even though Bolingbrook is eliminated, great soccer will still be played at Bolingbrook High School as the sectional finals will be held at the stadium. Teams in the sectional include all three Naperville schools (all of which are the top seeds), Waubonsie Valley, Benet and both Downers Grove schools.
