The girls cross country team competed at the highly competitive Peoria Notre Dame Cross Country invitational on Saturday.

Frosh/Soph - 318 total runners
Jahnell Horton - 13th
Marianna Hernandez - 68
Briana Certa - 135
Katy Rees - 149
Mariah Hamrick - 151 - First race after missing two weeks due to injury
Zuri Carbajal - 211

Frosh Soph Finished 15th out of 28 teams

Varsity - 331 total runners
Led by Shelby Manning who finished 251st. The Varsity team finished 46 out of 48 teams.

Invitational provided the girls with an opportunity to compete at Detweiller Park, state course located in Peoria, IL. The experience will help prepare our young team for the quickly approaching state series. Overall, the girls continued to improve by improving consistency and maintaining pace from mile to mile.

Several of the schools did not run their best runners because the one week delay due to bad weather disrupted their training schedules, so the meet did not serve the purpose it was designed for.

p.s. long story short, we were ready to go, we weren't ready to go, but the plan is to post these the day I get the e-mail. expect that from now on.
