The Bolingbrook Raiders girls tennis team lost 4-3 to Joliet Twp. on Thursday.

This was, by far, the closest conference match we have played in years. The girls have worked very hard this year to be able to compete like they did against Joliet. It is disappointing that we couldn't squeeze out 1 more win, but we will take this as a learning experience for future close matches. We will continue to work in practice on correcting our mistakes and gaining confidence in our shots.

Winners for the Raiders were Giselle Velasco 6-3, 6-4; Celina Onyejiaka 0-6, 6-4, 6-1; Shannon Riley and Cathy Villagomez 6-0, 6-4.

The Bolingbrook Raiders girls tennis team lost 7-0 to Lockport on Tuesday.

We had some strong performances though, which was not the case last year because there were no close matches.

At #1 doubles Ryann Woodfill and Sherie Phips played a close 7-6, 6-4 match. At #1 singles Celina Onyejiaka played a close 7-5, 6-1 match. And at #4 doubles Danielle Kramolisch and Shannon Riley played a close 6-3, 6-2 match. We continue to improve and are starting gain respect from our opponents and their coaches.
