OK, here is the deal. I have cheated.

But I don't like that term for deciding that I wanted something sweet. So I am going to say I indulged.

I indulged Saturday night. I drove into Chicago, and my friend Carla and I went out for Mexican. I had the chicken burrito suizo. It was yummy. But really, how bad could cheese, sour cream, chicken and a tortilla be for someone going for an Atkins/The Zone hybrid diet?

It gets worse, after the jump.

The real cheat was a stop at a new frozen custard place in Evanston. This shop is an export from the town where I went to college. When I was IN college, I never had the money to get their custard -- maybe just once a year. But, now that they have franchised, I can get it here, and that makes me very happy. The store just opened, and I had TWO coupons.

I can justify this, right, since custard is made with eggs, and eggs are Atkins-approved? Right? Plus, I only ate half of the strawberry and melted chocolate Snowmonster...

Still, the rest of the week went well. I am eating salads, and I am liking them! The omelets with cheese, ham and turkey I have been making in the mornings are pretty darn tasty, too. Dinner ... well, I don't know what day this week I might get to actually make or eat dinner. But I bought frozen fish filets (I love fish) from the Schwann's man and intend to try to do parmesan-crusted fish this week, with some steamed veggies on the side.

Gotta head to the weigh in. I promise to update as soon as I know the answer.

Indulgence is a necessity!! Enjoy it! Then move on! Even Laura says we shouldn't "deprive ourselves".
