New Prep Football State Rankings

Several area teams continue to get attention in the state rankings.

Bartlett moved up two notches to No. 5 in the Class 8A poll, and if the Hawks continue their strong play you'd assume they'll eventually get a few votes for the top spot.

St. Charles climbed up a spot to No. 7 in the Class 7A poll, while crosstown rival St. Charles North received a single vote. If the North Stars can upset Bartlett this weekend, expect that vote total to grow substantially.

Meanwhile, Huntley is receiving votes in Class 6A and Genoa-Kingston is receiving votes in Class 4A. Both undefeated squads should move into the rankings in the next week or two if they maintain their current level of play.

My only beef with this week's rankings is I don't understand how an 0-4 Aurora Central Catholic team can be receiving votes in Class 4A. Keep in mind that the Chargers were blown out 42-7 by St. Edward last weekend.

I don't have a vote in this thing, but if I did I'd for sure put the Green Wave up for a vote over ACC.

Check out the state rankings below if you'd like to see how they stack up this week.
