Cream of the crop: St. Charles East (volleyball) and Larkin (soccer) remain atop the rankings for the third straight week. Both teams have big matches within the Upstate Eight Conference coming up this week. The Saints travel to Neuqua Valley tonight and the Royals host No. 2 Streamwood on Thursday.

Note: Rankings are based on performance against like-sized schools.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
1. St. Charles East (19-1): Saints host competitive Mizuno Cup on Saturday.
2. Burlington Central (16-3): Rockets now in driver's seat for another BNCE title.
3. Hampshire (22-2): Whips got some confidence back after winning IMSA tourney.
4. Huntley (13-7): Red Raiders posted impressive victory over CLC.
5. St. Edward (11-10): Green Wave now tied for second in tough SCC (8-2).
On the bench: Bartlett, Dundee-Crown, St. Charles North.

BOYS SOCCER
1. Larkin (15-1): Royals made a STATEment after winning Pepsi Showdown title.
2. Streamwood (12-3-2): Sabres looking forward to date with Larkin on Thursday at Memorial Field.
3. St. Charles North (8-7-3): North Stars dumped rival St. Charles East 1-0.
4. Westminster Christian (9-6-1): Warriors looking to surprise in PSL conference tourney.
5. Huntley (6-4-2): Nico Carbonara recorded hat-trick vs. Belvidere.
On the bench: Genoa-Kingston, Jacobs, St. Charles East.
