Volleyball State Finals -- St. Edward (3rd place)

St. Edward finishes on top -- St. Edward concluded its season with a 25-22, 26-24 victory over Princeton for third-place in the Class 2A State Finals on Saturday at Redbird Arena.

The Wave (24-18) was led by seniors Kristen Haggenjos (12 kills, 8 digs) and Katie Yohn (10 kills, 8 assists). Fellow seniors Molly Kelly (2 kills) and Rachel Varley (11 assists, game-ening ace) also played big roles, as did sophomore Margie Haggenjos (14 digs).

St. Edward topped its previous best performance Downstate when the Wave finished fourth in 2004 under then first-year coach Jaime Walton.
