Funcom intends to ramp up beta testing for its much-anticipated MMORPG The Secret World (screenshot above).
The game is set to launch June 19.
Right now, more than 750,000 are enrolled as beta testers.
The game will feature three secret societies - The Illuminati, The Templars and The Dragon - battling for dominance.
In other news:
- The Legacy update, coming in April, was announced for Star Wars: The Old Republic, by EA, BioWare and LucasArts. Among the things the update will include is a PvP Warzone Rankings and Guild Banks.
- 2K Games reports that Spec Ops: The Line will be released June 26 on Xbox 360, PC and PlayStation 3. Set in a Dubai beset by fierce sandstorms, Spec Ops represents 2K Games first foray into the military shooter genre.
- Meanwhile, 2K and Gearbox Software announced the sequel Borderlands 2 is due Sept. 18 for the PS3, PC and Xbox 360. In either the single-player campaign or four-player cooperative mode, the goal will be to eliminate Handsome Jack and his Hyperion Corp.
- The Conflict of Heroes World War II tactical board game will be developed for the PC, Matrix Games, Western Civilization Software and Academy Games announced. Conflict of Heroes: Awakening the Bear is due in late March.
- Indie developer Eden Industries says Waveform, its arcade game involving controlling a wave of light, will be available in March through Steam. Waveform will feature more than 100 levels of challenges.
