There were 50 people in the audience who saw Antioch government at work. Er, not at work.
Four of six Antioch trustees didn’t bother to show up for Monday night’s Village Board meeting.
In addition to Mayor Dorothy Larson, the only trustees present were Scott Pierce and Robert McCarty.
Absent were trustees Larry Hanson, Bob Caulfield, Dennis Crosby and Mike Wolczyz.
In addition to important development issues left on the table, village bills will go unpaid until the next board meeting in two weeks.
This is Democracy in inaction. The no-show trustees should resign and let people who are really interested in serving the public serve.
Shame on them.
