That cover story in Friday's News-Sun got this dog thinking about winter and how the dog house needs some new insulation. The fur is a little thin and The Hound could use one of those warm and cuddly fur coats they sell at the fur store in Lake Forest.
Not that The Hound agrees with wearing fur. Not to sound like a PETA stalwart, but this dog likes his own fur too much to take another's. Those folks buying those minks apparently haven't really smelled a mink before they get turned into coats. They're nasty-smelling creatures!
Even if we can't afford fur coats, we may be paying an arm and a leg this winter for some warmth by the hearth. Some are even estimating it's going to cost us nearly 30 percent more for the upcoming cold spell.
While The Hound likes his nippy fall weather to frolic, can April come to soon?
