Gurnee has sure taken its sweet time removing sandbags from the fronts of waterlogged businesses.
Actually, things have been high and dry for several days now, but downtown Gurnee customers must still approach storefronts as if sneaking up on an enemy bunker.
They've taken some getting used to, but the sandbags do add a certain Third World charm.
Perhaps it will lead to a new village slogan, such as "Gurnee: It's in the bag". Or how about "Bag-dad"?
OK, smarty pants, you come up with one.
