The Brothers Stebic

Craig and Scott Stebic are brothers. At one time they lived in Lake County, but now they live in far south suburban Plainfield. They sound like two wild and crazy guys.

Craig Stebic is a "person of interest" in the disappearance of his wife, the former Lisa Ruttenberg, who graduated in 1987 from Libertyville High School. Craig was arrested in Lake County in 1995 on felony and misdemeanor gun charges while driving past a Lincolnshire grade school.

Craig, who at the time was living on the near north side of Waukegan, had in his pickup truck four weapons, including a double-barrel shotgun, Chinese-made AK-47 semiautomatic assault rifle, .44-caliber Magnum semiautomaic pistol and a Ruger Mini-14 assualt rifle. He didn't have a state FOI card and the charges were lessened and he was placed on probation. He said the guns were in his vehicle because he just got back for a hunting trip in Michigan.

Scott Stebic also faces felony charges for deceptive practices, allegedly bouncing five checks totaling $312.37 in five days in July at a Highland Park White Hen. He also has been charged with DUI in Bannockburn and was picked up in Highland Park on a misdemeanor charge of trespass to a vehicle when he slipped into a tow truck and snatched the keys.

Does The Hound want to party with these two? Not really. But the cops want to talk to Craig and Lisa's two kids to see if they know anything about their mother's disappearance.

If Craig and Lisa Stebics children do not know any current information on the disappearance of their mother, then why would Craig Stebic hide from the police and the press. Craig was alrady named a "person of interest" in the case, if he really did not do anything in regards to Lisas disappearance, then the children know nothing. By not letting them speak out to the public, and state their hopes for their mothers safe return is only causing harm to them. No child wants to have their mother disappear. Regardless if they have any leads to her disappearance, it is thier time to shine in the spot light. If they arent allowed to now, I am sure they will when they turn the legal age of eighteen. Craig Stebic, save everyone the pain and hopes especially your childrens and Lisas family, and let your children speak out.

THE HOUND SAYS: Why doesn't he let the kids talk? Maybe they know something Craig doesn't want the cops to know.
