Wadsworth rumblings - The News Hound

Wadsworth rumblings

To read The News-Sun's "Talk of the County" you'd think Wadsworth was some podunk town better suited to "Green Acres" or "Pettycoat Junction." The Hound will set the record straight.

It is obvious to this dog that those callers are jealous. These are people who live in Waukegan, but have Wadsworth addresses and you know who you are.

Wadsworth's downtown is quaint, what with the old Gracie Shields home now the Newport Township Hysterical Society. I dare anyone to ask for a Cosmopolitan in the Duck Inn. The feed store, where else can you get horse feed in this part of Lake County? And since the county has driven the girlie shows out of town, it's reverted back to its country living status. The Hound knows some Wadsworth residents and they're not at all like hicks from Mayberry.

You want class? Head to Russell or Rosecrans. Yee-haw!
