The Hound leads a fairly boring existence, but not that meager to take a tour of a garbage dump on a fall Saturday. Especially one that nearby residents swear is stinking up their neighborhood.
But take a tour of the Veolia landfill in Zion is what dozens of Lake Countians did the other day. Plus, the Veolia folks popped for lunch, putting some meat on the barbie . Yum!
So, if you take a tour of a landfill, what's next on your agenda of Lake County gambols? Moseying over to a sewage treatment plant to find out how they treat what you flush down the toilet? A tour of the county jail? A swim in the Des Plaines River? A glance at the recycling facility at the Countryside landfill in Grayslake? A march through Thelen's gravel pit? Checking out a compost pile?
Well, if you go, count The Hound out. There's still plenty of college football games on TV left to occupy a lazy Saturday afternoon. That makes more sense than lounging at a landfill.
