Think the Pakistani putsch by President Pervez Musharraf doesn't effect you? Not according to the Lake County Bar Association which is concerned over the closing of courts in Pakistan, and the mass arrest of lawyers and judges for speaking out against the military regime.
Now, arresting lawyers and judges is probably every John Birch Society member's dream, but as we are a nation of laws, not men, we need folks of good conscience to make just rulings. That ain't going to happen in Pakistan with the roundup.
County barristers note that American aid, derived in part from Lake County, has been used for many years to prop up Musharraf. And, The Hound may point out, Pakistan has nuclear weapons. And, another point. Osama bin Laden may be hiding there.
There's only one solution, one that the county bar folks probably wouldn't agree, but one that makes perfect sense: Invade Pakistan. There's WMDs there, there's terrorists there. Can you name a better place to invade? What, Iraq? Been there, done that and there were no WMDs.
To overthrow the Pakistani putsch, don't you think we need a Pakistani push?
