Too bad Hollywood's writers are on strike for better compensation when it comes to "new media" ventures because Lake County has had a rash of stories recently which just cry out for film treatment.
Consider these screenplay treatments:
The Horse Rescuers: Ordinary folks save a truckload of horses headed for the glue factory. Done in documentary-style fashion.
Gay and in Love: Two teen lesbians banned from their high school yearbook take their fight to the Supreme Court and at the same time stand up for gay rights. Ready-made for Lifetime.
The Horror Next Door: Over a four-year span a pedophile lures young teen boys into a sex club in the quiet Calfornia town of Verde Monte. Neighbors are shocked when cops bust the guy, amazed he could pull this off right under their usual prying eyes.
Gasoline Alley: An aging senior citizen seeks vengeance after he and his girlfriend split up. To exact revenge, he targets her son in a garage, tries to douse him with gasoline and set him on fire. In the process the senior is consumed by rage and flames. Could be a hit on Court TV.
Don't think those will make it? Think again, studio moguls.
