I know I'm sleeping better at night knowing that Sylvester Stallone has endorsed Arizona Sen. John McCain for the Republican presidential nomination. But don't you think Sly's a little old (61) to be playing Rambo for the umpteenth time on the big screen?
Maybe they should call him Osteoporambo or Geezer Rambo for his performance in the latest "First Blood" sequel. But The Hound digresses. We were talking about his endorsement of McCain.
Says Sly: "I like McCain a lot. A lot. And you know, things may change along the way, but there's something about matching the character with the script. And right now, the script that's being written and reality is pretty brutal and pretty hard-edged like a rough action film, and you need somebody who's been in that to deal with it."
And who says Hollywood is just full of wussy left-wing vegetarians supporting Hillary Clinton?
As for McCain, he was elated to get Stallone's backing. "I'm going to Philadelphia and running up the steps," the candidate said when hearing of the fairly ringing endorsement. For non-filmophiles that is a reference to Stallone's performance in the first "Rocky". But getting back to Rambo. Where's Richard Crenna when you really need him?
hey, hound...
here's where Richard Crenna is HE'S DEAD!!!!!
THE HOUND SEZ: Well of course he's dead. That's why the statement read: "Where's Richard Crenna when you really need him." There are some, however, who say Crenna's career died in 1952 when he first appeared on the small screen as Walter Denton in "Our Miss Brooks".
