A civic shame

The Hound has a couple nephews who will be graduating from Lake County high schools this spring.
One will graduate May 25 from Warren Township High School. Graduation will be held on the campus of Northwestern University in Evanston
Another will graduate June 5 from Libertyville High School. Graduation will be held -- you guessed it -- on the campus of Northwestern University in Evanston.
What's wrong with this picture? It's a civic shame that Lake County does not have a facility to house special events such as these. Between concerts, conventions and graduations, a 10,000-seat arena would be in constant use.
We should push hard and do whatever it takes to get an arena in Lake County. There's no excuse for a county of 725,000 people to be without one.

The Waukegan School District announced that their middle school promotions will be held at the Genesee Theatre. Although it is not big enough for the H.Ss, it is a perfect example of a multi-use venue.

Quote: "Between concerts, conventions and graduations, a 10,000-seat arena would be in constant use."

Especially if they open it up for soccer use. It would be filled to capacity. Got to love open borders.

THE HOUND SAYS: Now what does soccer, open borders and a 10,000-seat arena have to do with anything, goober? Perhaps you misread the original story or perhaps, well, you're just a goober. Cook County has several venues that can handle a crowd. Lake County has a few banquet halls for political gatherings. Once again, our lawmakers have been asleep at the swtich, currying favor with Cook County Democrats or downstate Republicans to see the big picture. Voice of the Truth? You're the Voice of Goobers, you maroon.

Mr. Hound, if that is your real name,
I have taken a personal insult from you and I demand an immediate apology. Apparently you have no idea of the meaning of the word maroon. I assure you that you did not intend to insult me by calling me a color. Rather you choose to insult me by calling me a run away slave. What gives you the right to come out with such a borderline racist comment such as this? Maybe you had the wrong role models growing up that allowed such outward aggression to the very people that your livelihood depends.
Good day.
By the way. Your editing staff sucks.

THE HOUND SAYS: Geez, does The Hound have to educate everybody? The circus must be in town. OK, you don't like maroon, how about goober?
