She had done so well, and she looked terrified during the results show. It just didn't seem right to us.
Idol'-izing Gina
Glocksen's stellar performance gets her plenty of attention, on to next round

Nothing comes easy in "American Idol."
After Gina Glocksen's knockout performance Tuesday night, she was told to stand alongside Chris Sligh during Wednesday's episode. One of the two was a bottom-three performer for the week.
When Sligh's name was announced, Glocksen didn't look relieved. She sat, expressionless. Sligh was sent to the middle of the stage and eventually was voted off the show.
Napervillian Gina Glocksen's rendition of "I'll Stand By You" by The Pretenders was dubbed her best performance yet on "American Idol" by ultra-critical judge Simon Cowell.
It was a sobering moment on the show. Even acid-tongued "Idol" Judge Simon Cowell put viewers at unease when asked who he thought would be voted off the show.
"I think it's bye, bye, Curly," said Cowell, referring to the shaggy-haired Sligh.
While Glocksen is safe from elimination, there could have been doubt in the minds of viewers even after her best performance Tuesday, singing "I'll Stand By You" by The Pretenders.
Call it the Sanjaya effect. Sanjaya Malakar had also advanced to the final 9, making the mediocre performer no longer an anomaly in the competition. Even though he donned a Mohawk and whispery version of "Bathwater," the 17-year-old didn't even land in the bottom three.
His odd performances and unique appearance have been widely discussed throughout the media. It appears that the anti-"Idol" campaigns, such as votefortheworst.com, to keep him on the show are no longer a theory. Shock jock Howard Stern has even joined in on the fun, encouraging his listeners to vote for Malakar.
The idea is to make show producers uncomfortable with a poor singer winning the competition.
Even show host Ryan Seacrest opened the Wednesday episode with a fake Mohawk, poking fun at Malakar. Malakar is already part of the Summer "Idol" Tour, which travels the country with the top 10 finalists, and his stardom continues to grow.
There's also the possibility that Malakar can eventually pose an elimination threat to Glocksen, a resident of Naperville. The 22-year-old proved she can sing with the best in the competition after her solo Tuesday, which had national media raving about her.
Glocksen will perform again at 7 p.m. Tuesday on Fox.

I don't think by pairing Gina with Chris they were suggesting she had a low number of votes. I simply think they want to keep everyone guessing.
Sanjaya has become a national joke and I am not sure I'd be as happy as he seems to be if it were me. His "backers" belong to a website called www.votefortheworst.com. Should he "go all the way" (don't kid yourself, it could happen), he would not only have the lowest selling American Idol album of all time but perhaps the lowest selling album in all of music history. None of the people who are voting for him would even think of purchasing his album.
At this point in the competition the two contestants that have garnered the most attention and are the most well known are Sanjaya and Antonella Barba. Neither of which have been in the spotlight because of their ability to sing.
If you recall, Sanjaya was seen crying toward the beginning of the season when he was promoted to Hollywood week and his sister was not. Here we saw a selfless teen who was more concerned about his sister's broken dreams than the realization of his own dreams coming true. At this point Sanjaya must know that his success is due only to the desires of some people who wish to sabotage the show. If he is truly that selfless, he'd drop out of the competition before he ruins the dreams of someone who truly deserves to be there.
Who doesn't believe this Sanjaya is for real? He's probably going to the top 3 with the efforts of these kind of web sites.
I'd love to know what's going through Sanjaya's mind at this point. Is he trying to be awful? With that mohawk, it sure seems like it.
Best not to concentrate on Sanjaya. Let's bring the chicago suburbs in for Gina Glocksen. She's a really nice girl with lots of talent and despite her rocker aura, she can sing anything with a great deal of style and stage presence. She needs your votes, Naperville (and surrounding areas)!
Gina, I love your voice. Its soo awesome and rocker style. You have been my favorite Idol from day one. My husband works at the municipal center there in naperville and he tried soo hard to get me a chance to come to your welcome home party, but to our dismay things just didn't work out. I know deep in my heart that you have a life long career ahead of you in the music business. I will always be a great fan of yours and will follow your progress all through your career. Good luck to you.
