My guess is if she gets much further they will do something for her at Ribfest or The Last Fling. I'm sure if she wins the competition they will have some sort of home coming for her. That being said, the best way to salute her would be to vote for her. :)
As an American Idol, she appears qualified with her ability to perform and sing, but, she needs to get rid of the tongue pierce, I don't think that represents a very nice presentation of an American Idol Girl.
Let's keep in mind she's a self proclaimed "rock" girl (which I think.... rocks!). She's not appealing to the same crowd as say, Katharine McPhee or Haley Scarnato. Rock, in its most honest presentation, is loud, dangerous and scares your parents. :) Go Gina! \m/
Naperville has young men and women in uniform, like Jason Henderson, serving in the most dangerous place on earth- the Anbar provence of Iraq. Yet, I don't hear any call for a Jason Henderson Day. Not to take anything away from Gina's accomplishments, but it seems to me we have our priorities confused.
everyone get a red streak in their hair- I think that would honor her...
Why should we "honor" Gina Glocksen? She's a singer who took part in a contest and lost - deservedly so. She wasn't the best singer, nor was she the most popular. Her attitude during the judges comments was deplorable - unless it was something she wanted to hear. Honor her??? For what??? How about teach her some grace and manners. At least the Naperville Apprentice has that!
I really like Gina's style; it goes with her singing style; I wish I looked like her!!
I think she did really well throughout the whole competition. There are DEFINITELY others that should have been booted out before her!!!I don't think she should worry; someone out there will pick her up!!
So, hang in there, Gina!
(by the way, when you got the boot, it's the first time I've cried when someone left!)(and, no, I don't even live in Naperville!)
Gina, I thought you id fine until your last song. When Simon offered criticism, you were unwilling to listen as you cut him off and had your say that went on deaf ears. Once you were eliminated you embarassed Naperville with your comments after the show saying that you felt "secure" while standing next to Haley. HUMBLE CAN YOU SPELL IT, TRY LIVING IT!!! Two words for Gina "you should have gone home sooner" Glocksen...SORE LOSER
To salute Gina? What do you think? Of coarse she should be saluted ,why? Because Gina represents everyone in Naperville, meaning everyone who is a regular person, a person with a dream that never experience in ones person life time. Every person who wants to do something but never, ever had the courage to reach there personal dreams. Gina represents all of you, in Naperville, Gina fame in american idol, shows that, just like you (a regular person) she has reach out and gave everything she had to achive her goals and her dreams. She is a shinnig star, example for,and of everyone in Naperville, she a reflectiong of those living in Naperville with the hope, and dreams which all of you have a dream to live your dream....
Gina, I'm a former Napervillian and now a musician living in Las Vegas. You have it all. Ignore James' comment above. Your song "Smile" was fabulous. You deserved to be in the top 10 and never gave up on your own style. You are a true performer and should have no problems continuing with this as your career if you choose so. I only sing now for charity events -- it's a hard life to be a musician -- and have a "normal" life during the days! It's a good mix. But choose wisely -- you have the talent to do whatever you choose. Good luck in your musical future! (And you did NOT embarass Naperville! Haley is an OK musician, but her legs are keeping her on TV. And Sanjay? Enough. He's a cute kid, but thanks to Howard Stern and the website to vote for the worst singer, neither deserved to share the stage with you. You are FAR better than either of them!)
