Danger games loom for Z-B

If Zion-Benton High’s boys basketball team doesn’t make it downstate for the IHSA Class 4A Final Four playdowns in March, it won’t be because the Bees played a soft schedule.

After this week’s marshmallowy Luther North tournament, the Zee-Bees have danger games left against Lake Forest (2), Stevenson, Mundelein and Warren in the North Suburban Conference Lake Division.

Then, there is a non-conference game at powerful Lake Forest Academy, plus four games in the Hononegah tourney. One of those will be against the host Indians, who are undefeated and the No. 2 seed at the Bloomington/Normal tourney this week that Lake Forest and Grayslake Central are in.

Hononegah is one of those teams that bombs away from behind the arc and likes to score a ton of points.

Game time is 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 21.
