That said, after feeling very wishy-washy about the outcome of the Rose Bowl, it’s time to settle upon a winner of that game. How about something along the lines of this:
USC 41, Illinois 14.
At the end of the season, no football team in the country was playing better than USC … except maybe the New England Patriots.
Illinois’ stock seems to rise with every bad game by the Bears and Bulls, as radio talk shows search desperately for a winning team to talk about.
On Wednesday night, Illinois won’t be it.
