Hononegah's hard to figure

On Monday, Jan. 21, Zion-Benton (currently 15-0) will play at Hononegah (currently 13-0) in the final game of the Martin Luther King holiday tournament that Hononegah is hosting.

To tell the truth, it’s hard to get a handle on this Hononegah team.

En route to winning the tourney title at Bloomington/Normal, the Indians knocked off highly regarded DeLaSalle High from the Chicago Catholic League.

However, during Thanksgiving week, the Indians only beat Grayslake Central by two points (51-49) in a holiday tourney.

What is known is that between Hononegah, Rockford Boylan and Jacobs … one of those three teams will be waiting for our Barrington Sectional champion at the Round of 8 super-sectional in late March at NIU in DeKalb.
