Rebels soccer: Alive, but how well?

It’ll be interesting to see how many of us pour into the Lake County Sports Center in Waukegan for Sunday’s 3 p.m. professional indoor soccer match between our Waukegan-based Rebels and a team from Massachusetts.

The American Indoor Soccer League’s top two crowds this year – both around 1,000 – attended home games in Massachusetts, which is the home base for the fledgling league.

Our Rebels franchise is a first-year operation that seems to be operating much the way we operate our households – on a shoestring budget.

It would be helpful to the team if a large paid gate shows up Sunday to show their emoational and financial support for the home team.
