And then there were two ...

The good news is that even though we have just two teams still alive in the IHSA playoffs,The Locker Room scuttlebutt is is that we'll still have two teams alive at about 10 p.m. Friday.

Class 4A Barrington Sectional final

Zion-Benton 71, Schuamburg 60. DePaul-bound Schaumburg junior Cully Payne will be the third-best guard on the floor, and it will show.

The thinking inThe Locker Room is that Z-B should get about 71 points. The only way Schaumburg can get 72 is by hitting about 24 3-pointers.

They might TAKE 24 3-pointers .... but they won't make that many.

Class 3A Antioch Sectional final

North Chicago 73, Guerin 60. The best possible news for North Chicago in this game is that the Gators want to play fast.

Slow teams like Grayslake Central have a tendency to make the Hawks look bad.

Actually, the big game of the night in Class 3A is at Riverside-Brookfield, where we really need St. Francis of Wheaton to take out state super-power Chicago Marshall tonight. If that happens, North Chicago can start mapquesting on how to get to Peoria.
