The object is to PACK the Bee Hive on Sunday afternoon at 2:45 p.m. Let these kids know how much we appreciated their efforts all season.
It's not whether you win or lose them all, it's how you play the game.
Our guys play it the right way.
Sunday is Pack the Place day at Zion-Benton High.
This past weekend reminded me of the wonderful years of living in a small town in central Illinois. I grew up in a town with a population of 4000. Everyone in town rallied behind the High School sports teams. Seemed the entire town attended Friday night football games. The downtown changed colors during homecoming week.
I was happy to see the excitement generated in Zion by the boy's basketball program. Witnessing the excitement on Sheridan Rd. when the caravan of city vehicles with sirens blaring, the team bus with the players hanging out the windows waving their state medals triumphantly, and the long line of horn honking supporters was without a doubt the best thing I have seen in my 20 years as a Zion resident. I hope Zion takes this and builds on it.
