Waukegan HIgh's Dog Pound ... 7:30 p.m. Friday ... intrasquad scrimmage.
This is Waukegan hoops first shot to see what we've got for this season.
The next three shots are next Wednesday, Friday & Saturday when Waukegan hosts a Thanksgiving tourney.
Do you have 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 29, circled on your schedule too?
It most definitely is in The Locker Room.
Waukegan vs. Warren.
Richmond vs. Paul ... future Fighting Illini teammates going head-to-head for the first and only time as high-school players, unless they happen to meet in the IHSA playoffs.
Check out the Big Dogs this Friday night.
When this turns out to be a season to remember, you'll be able to say you were there at the beginning.

Any 'team' with Jeremy Richmond will have a lot to overcome.

It's a new year sir. Team ball is in vogue this winter in the Dog Pound. First of all, Jereme doesn't have to do it all homself. With Colin Nickerson and Steven Connor, he's got two prime-time offensive weapons. There are also two point guards to run the offense.
Plus, the thinking in the Locker Room is that assistant coach Tim Bowen and Jereme are on the same page this season. The guess is that Jereme knows that Bowen knows what he's talking about. You're gonna see a new, improved J.R. and a new, improved Waukegan team that should be scoring in the 70s and 80s every night. Look for a win total in the low 20s, and a sectional final loss to Z-B. And then wait until next year when Akeem Springs will be a sophomore. As a freshman, he's already got a lot of skills. Plus, the kid hustles. And that's contagious. Nobody out there wants to be shown up by a freshman.
