Elgin cut lead to 44-38 with 5:30 remaining and Elgin had to come out of zone defense and play man-to-man. Ronald Steward beat his man and scored on a runner for 46-38. Elgin responded with a 3-point bombm to make it 46-41 with five minutes left.
