prep football playoffs: October 2008 Archives

Figure on 9-11 area football teams being happy campers today when the list of teams that have qualified for the IHSA playoffs is announced.
Pairings will be announced starting at 8 p.m., but our classes -- 5A to 8A -- won't be announced until after 9.
Nevertheless, we want all area prep football fans to stop by The Locker Room starting at 7:30 p.m. today to talk prep football, vote on some polls, and basically spread the good word about your team as it begins its most exciting venture of the year.

Saturday night, pairings and Class assignments for the IHSA football playoffs will be announced betweeN 8-10 p.m.
Starting at 7:30 p.m., you can chat in The Locker Room about your favorite playoff team and its chances. We'll be here as long as you want to talk, or until the Cubs win a World Series game, whichever comes first.

And, you can pretty much assume we, in The Locker Room, are going to rip the IHSA for going with its north/south 16-team brackets that create travel miseries and have killed local rivalries.
