A new Harry Potter book? Rowling debuts new novel

Imagine being among the most successful authors that ever lived, and yet, having a lifetime to savor it. J.K. Rowling, the mind of Harry Potter, is doing just that and has sworn that Harry is done.

But I don't believe it (think George Lucas). Now she is working on her newest book.

The book is a bunch of illustrations and stories, called "The Tales of Beedle the Bard." Only seven will be available; they're being printed to raise money for a children's charity.

But I wonder, why is the British author so public lately?

She already announced that one of the Potter wizards, Dumbledore, was gay, months after the release of her final book. An encyclopedia on the wizarding world is also in the works for Rowling.

Why is a private person becoming so public? Bored, unsatisfied or thirsting for more in the literary world?

I think it's all of the above. What's the reason?

And does it bother you, the Potter-devoted bunch, that you won't be able to get your hands on her latest work? Consider that a mega-rich collector will probably encase it and won't ever read it.

Holy hogwart,

We can't even get a peak at a new Rowling book? I feel deprived and cheated. HAven't we earned her loyalty at this point?

Brenda

Before we get all crazed, let me remind people that this isn't a Harry Potter book, and it's probably just some collectors piece anyway.

She'll leave the good stuff to us.

MITCHELL RESPONDS: That's a possibility. But, what if readers have to wait years like they did for Lucas' prequel of "Starwars" ?

Harry Potter is undoubtedly are most treasured character in this millennia. Of course, we’re willing to hang on to every one of Rowling’s words.

I can’t wait for her to unmask another book, because I know it will be in the readers’ hands before we know it.

If we put two and two together, we have to believe Rowling's hand in the literature is not over. Sure there were some questions left after the final book, but I'm not saying she'll continue where she left off. She is much to wise and clever for that. I'm thinking that she will bring us on a new adventure, possibly something about the time before Harry's parents were killed.

There's so much room for a good story there and I'm hoping that she will bring us there.

Please, J.K. we can't for another.

Honestly, I'm a bit annoyed with Rowling right now. She's played her part as the private author and now she's marching out a gay character.

Why didn't she mention that when the character was implanted in the book?

I don't know. I think she's a fine person, someone that makes this planet better. But I'm confused and annoyed at what's she doing lately.

I can't believe that she won't disclose this book to the public.

Isn't that what made her fame?
