Has the world gone mad, goes the rhetoric.
We know the answer. But for as long as I observe human nature from the status of columnist, journalist, human, I'll never understand why people on the greatest day of the year--Thanksgiving--would want to cut it short by getting up or never going to bed and head to the local Wal-Mart or Best Buy at 2 a.m.
Why do this?
You know, some people are just desperate. So deseparate, they will step on your head to get an ipod! These videos are classic.
Did you see the one woman’s wig falll off?? I nearly peed my pants.
i know it would be unsafe for me, since my balance is compromised from m.s. there's nothing i want bad enough to spend a moment of my life doing this. it's greedy and mean, and no, i don't think it's funny. i don't like to go to any store for anything during the season of peace and love; that's when people are the meanest. angry, frustrated, stressed, and just mean. stay inside 'til after christmas. you would like to think that this season is when people treat each other the best, people might find other ways to express their aggressive hunting instincts. a scratching post, maybe?
MITCHELL RESPONDS: Amen. I think die-hard evolution scientists might be conflicted by these videos when they consider a "progression" of human kind.
What a thing to look forward to on Thanksgiving Day - getting to bed early to get up in the middle of the night to wait on line at Wal-Mart with all the other wackos.
I'm proud to say I've never participated in Black Friday, but these videos appear to be more entertaining than most football games.
You know what a lot of these people fail to realize is that many of these same deals are available online. And with a little investigating, you can find all kinds of online discount coupons, use a discount site like Ebates, and often find free shipping. I haven't shopped in a physical retail store for Christmas in nearly 6 years. I hate this time of year because it makes life so difficult when all you want to do is go to the store and get toothpaste.
